Well, it sure seems like this game is a loss.
The Philadelphia Eagles are undermanned.
Here’s their projected starting lineup on offense: QB Jalen Hurts, RB Will Shipley, WR Dontayvion Wicks (playing through a hamstring injury), WR Darius Cooper, WR Makai Lemon, TE Dallas Goedert, LT Jordan Mailata, LG Willie Lampkin, C Jake Majors, RG Tyler Steen, RT Markel Bell.
It’s not easy to envision this offense scoring a lot of points. They were already struggling to move the ball when they were healthier than this. And now they’re going up against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that’s allowed the second-fewest points in the NFL.
The NFL is weird, so, maybe this ragtag group of players outperforms expectations. Maybe Nick Sirianni’s messaging about “locking arms” works and they rally to pull off an upset. If so, it’ll probably take a massive effort from the Eagles’ defense.
I don’t really see it. The Eagles aren’t trending in the good direction this season. The Jags deserve much more benefit of the doubt at this point in time.
The Eagles will drop to below .500 for the first time since the 2021 season.
