For the second straight year, Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey senior captain Caroline Harvey has been named to a prestigious top-three list.

Harvey learned on March 11 she was named a 2026 Patty Kazmaier Award top-three finalist alongside Minnesota’s Abbey Murphy and Penn State’s Tessa Janecke.

All three players suited up for Team USA in the Olympics. Now, they have their eyes on winning the 2026 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in addition to their Gold Medals. The winner will be announced on Saturday, March 21 at 12:30 p.m. EST live on the NHL Network. That is sandwiched in between this year’s edition of the Frozen Four, which takes place on the campus of Penn State on March 20 and 22.

Should Harvey win, she would be the seventh Badger to win the award. Currently, Wisconsin is tied with Harvard as both schools have produced six Patty Kazmaier Award winners.

Harvey’s case speaks for itself as she was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Year, Player of the Year, Olympic MVP, Olympic Best Defender, and was an Olympic All-Star. Obviously, those Olympic honors aren’t included in a collegiate award, but it shows how dominant she was against not just the best collegiate players, but also the best players in the world.

She is two points shy of matching her 63 points from a year ago, which were the school record for most points by a defender. Keep in mind, the 61 points she has this season come in only a 30-game sample size.
