No free agent hitting the market was seen as a bigger get than Tyler Linderbaum. The three-time Pro Bowl center was at or near the top of every free agent list at any position, making him a prime target for the salary cap rich Las Vegas Raiders. And the two sides agreed to terms within the first couple hours of the free agent negotiating period.
Linderbaum gets a Linderbombshell of a deal, signing for three years, $81 million with $60 million guaranteed. That’s an average of $27 million per season which would be by far the highest paid center in the league.
It was expected Linderbaum would become the highest paid center in the league as is common when players of his caliber hit the open market. And since the Raiders have more money than they can spend this free agency, with a major need at center, this marriage seemed like an obvious one all along.
