The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.
The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.
Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.
Next up is cornerback Elijah Jones.
Elijah Jones 2025 season
Jones ws drafted in the third round in 2024 out fo Boston College but missed his entire rookie season on injured reserve with an ankle injury. He made the active roster out of training camp but was inactive as a healthy scratch seven times last season.
He played in 10 games, logging 37 defensive snaps late in the season because of injuries at cornerback, and 68 on special teams. He had three total tackles and two pass breakups on defense.
Elijah Jones contract status
Jones will make more than $1.3 million in salary in 2026, the third year of his four-year rookie contract. He will count less than $1.6 million against the salary cap.
Elijah Jones offseason outlook
He has the benefit of having Nick Rallis retained as defensive coordinator, but this is a critical year for Jones. He barely played last season and didn’t look good in training camp.
He will have to take many steps forward this offseason if he is going to make the roster.
