With the 2026 NFL draft on the horizon, there are still a fairly large number of the Indianapolis Colts’ own free agents who remain unsigned.
This has been an active free agency period for GM Chris Ballard. So far, he’s made nine outside free agent additions and re-signed a number of his own free agents, including Daniel Jones and Alec Pierce.
Conversely, there has been turnover as well, with nine of Indianapolis’ free agents signing elsewhere, along with Ballard trading away Zaire Franklin and Michael Pittman.
With help from Over the Cap, below is a look at which Colts‘ free agents are still available. Realistically, at this stage of the offseason, these players may not end up signing somewhere until after the draft, when teams can get a complete look at what their rosters look like.
LB Germaine Pratt
The addition of Pratt early on in the season helped provide some stability at linebacker for the Colts. Pratt finished his season with the Colts recording 101 total tackles and holding pass-catchers to 10.1 yards per reception. He also had one interception and three pass breakups.
Will the Colts re-sign Pratt? Maybe. Depth and experience are greatly needed at linebacker. Depending on what happens in the draft, the Colts could look to bring Pratt back to provide some stability.
RB Ameer Abdullah
As the season went on, Abdullah’s role increased, and he began sharing the RB2 snaps with Tyler Goodson or taking on that role on his own when Goodson was sidelined. Abdullah also handled kick return duties without Anthony Gould.
Will the Colts re-sign Abdullah? Maybe. Behind Jonathan Taylor, the only other running backs on the roster right now are DJ Giddens and Ulysses Bentley.
DE Tyquan Lewis
Lewis can line up both inside and out. He recorded a modest 17 pressures each of the last two seasons. Clemons will fill a role similar to what Lewis did in this Colts’ defense.
Will the Colts re-sign Lewis? Probably not. Micheal Clemons can fill a similar role at defensive end for the Colts as Lewis did.
CB Chris Lammons
Lammons has spent time on both the practice squad and the active roster in recent seasons, providing cornerback depth when needed and help on special teams.
Will the Colts re-sign Lammons? Probably not. The cornerback position is very well-put-together and really doesn’t need any additions made.
IDL Eric Johnson
Johnson appeared in 12 games defensively last season, filling a rotational role at defensive tackle. He generated two pressures on 73 pass rush snaps. He played just 16 total special teams snaps as well.
Will the Colts re-sign Johnson? Probably not. Ballard reshaped the depth of this position this offseason, adding Jerry Tillery, Derrick Nnadi, and Colby Wooden.
