The Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts have reportedly completed the rare player-for-player swap.

Per multiple reports, the Colts have traded linebacker Zaire Franklin to the Packers for defensive tackle Colby Wooden.

What does this mean for both teams? It’s, y’know, not the Maxx Crosby trade, but this could impact both the Packers and the Colts in how they operate in the offseason.

Let’s break down the grades and see which team came out one top. Is it the Packers, who add an impact linebacker? Is it the Colts, who gain more depth at defensive tackle? Let’s dig in and see.

Colts grade

We love this for the Colts. Franklin could have easily been a salary cap casualty, and to get Wooden in return is a coup for Chris Ballard. This is good business for Indy.

Packers grade

The Packers might could have waited to see if Franklin was available as a free agent, and Wooden served a key role on defense as a depth defensive tackle. However, Franklin is good insurance to have on the roster with linebacker Quay Walker likely leaving as a free agent. We don’t hate this for Green Bay, but losing Wooden stings a bit.
