Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade is entering the transfer portal, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Lundblade was named the MVC Player of the Year after scoring 15.9 points per game and leading Belmont to a 26-5 record and the Missouri Valley regular season title.
Lundblade, who has also spent time at TCU and SMU during his career, spent the past two seasons at Belmont and will reportedly have one season of eligibility at his next stop. One school to watch will be the Kansas State Wildcats, who recently hired away Belmont head coach Casey Alexander. According to Tipton, Lundblade will “evaluate all his options.”
He emerged as one of the country’s best shooters in his time with the Bruins, making 43.9% of his 3-point attempts over the past two seasons. He also shot 45.5% from the floor and 94.0% from the free-throw line. He averaged 14.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 66 games for them.
Lundblade is originally from Dallas, Texas, and signed with the SMU Mustangs as a three-star recruit in the 2021 recruiting class. He redshirted during the 2021-11 season before transferring to TCU afterwards. He played in 15 games for the Horned Frogs over two seasons, scoring eight points.
His shooting will likely make him one of the most coveted transfers on the market. The transfer portal is set to open on April 7, the day after the national championship game, and will close on April 21.
