Roma continues to push for Givairo Read.
As Matteo Moretto recently reported on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, the Giallorossi initially showed interest in Sporting’s Ivan Fresneda, but subsequently decided to focus on the Dutch full-back from Feyenoord.
Read has already said yes to Roma, and there’s a principled agreement between the player and the club: now all that’s missing is an agreement between the two clubs.
The initial offer of around €25 million wasn’t enough to convince Feyenoord, but contacts between the clubs are continuing unabated.
New discussions are planned between today and tomorrow to try to make a definitive move and present a potential relaunch that could shake the Dutch club.
Read is considered very close to joining Roma, and the next few hours could provide a definitive answer on whether the deal will be a success.
