There was some good news and bad news for the New England Patriots on Friday, two days before their scheduled AFC Championship showdown against the Denver Broncos.
Let’s start with the bad news.
Patriots edge rusher Harold Landry III has been officially ruled out for the game with a knee injury. He has been dealing with the knee issue for multiple weeks and playing through it. However, the injury is clearly starting to take a toll, and this week, he won’t be available for the Patriots.
That should mean more reps for Anfernee Jennings, who has stepped up in a major way for the team in recent weeks. They’ll need another strong showing from the veteran outside linebacker when lining up across from K’Lavon Chaisson against a tough Broncos’ offensive line.
And now for the good news: Mack Hollins and Joshua Farmer are questionable to return. Hollins, the team’s fourth-leading wide receiver, was a full participant at practice on Friday, and the same was the case for Farmer, the rookie defensive tackle.
Both potentially returning for the AFC Championship Game would be major additions to the roster ahead of the biggest game of the season. Here are the game statuses for both teams ahead of Sunday’s matchup:
