Marseille are expected to bolster Roberto De Zerbi’s options with two deadline day signings. Foot Mercato reports that Angers SCO midfielder Himad Abdelli (26) has landed in Marseille this morning to complete a €2.5m move. Abdelli’s Angers contract was to expire in June, and amid interest from Olympique Lyonnais, the Algerian midfielder quickly made his thoughts clear on his preference to join Marseille.
Abdelli is expected to replace Brighton loanee Matt O’Riley, whose loan is set to be terminated. The Denmark international midfielder is set to spend the remainder of the campaign with the Seagulls, because he can’t compete for a third club in a single season.
Furthermore, Marseille have worked behind the scenes to secure a surprise agreement with Zulte Waregem for the signing of Nigeria international defensive midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi. The 22-year-old has also been spotted at Marseille’s Marignane airport this Monday.
