LeBron James didn’t exactly have a great game on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers. He scored just 13 points and shot 5-of-13 from the field, and he nearly cost the Los Angeles Lakers the game when he threw a bad inbounds pass with eight seconds left and the Lakers up by three.

Luckily for the Lakers, Nicolas Batum missed what would’ve been the game-tying 3-pointer, and they escaped with a 125-122 win.

For a period of time before Friday’s game, there was some doubt about whether James would be able to play due to knee soreness. After the game, he described when he started to experience knee soreness.

“It happened at practice yesterday, during our scrimmage,” he said. “[I] went up for a dunk [and] came down pretty good. But a couple minutes into the scrimmage after that, I started getting a little soreness and started getting a little tight.”

As of this writing, James is expected to play on Sunday when the Lakers host the Boston Celtics. The team is in fifth place in the Western Conference with a 34-21 record and is one game behind the third-place Denver Nuggets.

On the season, the 41-year-old is averaging 21.7 points on 49.9% field-goal shooting, 5.7 rebounds and 7.2 assists a game.
