Texas football will try to win yet another Red River Rivalry game Saturday while Oklahoma will just try find some hope for the season.
The Longhorns (4-0, 1-0) beat Tennessee 20-17 in their SEC opener then had a week off to prepare for its game today at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Now, No. 1 Texas is eyeing a third straight win over Oklahoma in the 122nd time the pair has played since 1900.
Oklahoma (2-2, 0-1) showed great promise at the start of the year after holding a preseason ranking of 10th and the addition of former Longhorn wide receiver Parker Livingstone. But OU has lost the two games its played against major-conference opponents and barely beat New Mexico in Week 2. Since his transfer, Livingstone has not recorded a single touchdown and has 51 yards on six receptions. Last season year, leading up to the game, he had three touchdowns and 308 yards on 15 receptions for Texas.
The Sooners also had a week to prepare for the game following a 41-13 loss to Georgia.
