EVANSVILLE — The Indiana high school boys swimming and diving season is complete.
The state tournament concluded on Saturday, Feb. 28 with the IHSAA state championship at the Indiana University Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis. Carmel High School extended its title streak to 12 years as the Greyhounds totaled 408 team points to out-distance Penn (247) and Homestead (201).
Southwestern Indiana was represented with a handful of individuals and relay teams.
Mount Vernon’s Ozzy Jankowski had the best performance in Indianapolis. The senior finished third in the 100 butterfly (48.69 seconds) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (49.74). Memorial senior Caden Zeidler also reached the podium in the 100 freestyle and 50 freestyle, an impressive combo considering he didn’t start swimming competitively until his freshman year. Zeidler took fifth in the 100 (45.59) and seventh in the 50 (20.84).
