The Tri-Valley Bulldogs finished second in this past weekend’s District 11 Duals at Freedom High School in Bethlehem and will now look to make a run in the state playoffs.

With district champions across the state decided, the matchups for the preliminary and first rounds of the state tournament have been announced. The Bulldogs will begin their state tournament appearance against District 12 champion Conwell-Egan, a Bucks County-based private school in Fairless Hills. The preliminary round matchup will take place at Schuylkill Haven High School on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. The winner will advance to face Faith Christian, the top team out of District 1, at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Eagles enter the postseason tournament with an undefeated 16-0 record after winning the 2026 Philadelphia Catholic League Duals late last month over Archbishop Ryan, Cardinal O’Hara, Father Judge, La Salle College, and St. Joseph’s Prep.

Conwell-Egan features a young and talented roster. Of their six 20-match winners this season, three are sophomores; they also have an additional sophomore with a 17-2 record this season. The Eagles’ top wrestler, Lukas Grodzki, is 27-7 this season and is committed to continuing his wrestling career at Alvernia University in Reading.

If Tri-Valley advances, they’ll face national powerhouse Faith Christian Academy.

Faith Christian is ranked by FloWrestling as the No. 4 team in high school wrestling nationally. On their roster, the Lions feature eight high-Division I commitments, including standouts Fred and Joe Bachmann.

Joe Bachman, a class of 2027 prospect, is ranked by Flo as the No. 3 wrestler nationally in his class, while Fred, a class of 2028 prospect, is also ranked third. The brothers are committed to continuing their wrestling careers at Iowa.

Additionally, senior Cael Weidemoyer is committed to Lehigh, senior Shane Wagner is committed to Arkansas at Little Rock, senior Jason Singer is committed to Nebraska, senior Mark Effendian is committed to Princeton, and senior Adam Waters, a three-time state champion, is committed to Ohio State. Additionally, junior Nick Singer is committed to Ohio State.

Of the long list of seniors above, Waters is ranked by FloWrestling as the No. 5 prospect nationally, Weidemoyer is ranked No. 33, Effendian at No. 61, and (Jason) Singer at No. 78. Junior Nick Singer is ranked No. 19 nationally.
