BATON ROUGE – LSU football will not only welcome Southeastern Conference rival Alabama to Baton Rouge but also the First Lady of the United States.
Melania Trump, President Donald Trump’s wife, will be in attendance for the LSU-Alabama showdown inside Tiger Stadium Saturday, Nov. 7, the Office of the First Lady announced Wednesday, Nov. 4.
The reason for the First Lady’s visit to LSU stems around the university and Trump securing a $5 million donation to establish a permanent scholarship fund for LSU students who have experienced foster care. The endowment is part of Trump’s Fostering the Future initiative that includes a special announcement at Louisiana State University, according to the press release.
“During her visit, Mrs. Trump will attend the highly anticipated LSU Tigers versus Alabama Crimson Tide football game at Tiger Stadium, where a groundbreaking Fostering the Future campaign will activate across the campus and on the field,” the release stated.
