The Kansas City Chiefs have hired Eric Bieniemy as their offensive coordinator, bringing back a key piece of their dynastic run.

Bieniemy spent last season with the Chicago Bears, but now returns to the Chiefs and Andy Reid to help kickstart this new era.

Last year, the Chiefs’ offense wasn’t a well-oiled machine that we had come to expect, with costly penalties plaguing Kansas City all season.

And Bieniemy’s vision for the Chiefs’ offense in 2026 should scare the daylights out of the rest of the NFL.

“We’ll be disciplined and detailed in everything in how we handle our business,” Bieniemy said. “There’s a standard of performance and excellence that will be expected.”

Chiefs set for bounce-back with Bieniemy?

Suggesting that Bieniemy’s return will magically fix all of Kansas City’s offensive ailments isn’t feasible, but he can certainly help.

The penalty issues are one thing, but so too is bringing back the explosive element to the offense, something the Chiefs were known for under Bieniemy.

Plus, the run game is set to be overhauled, something Bieniemy will no doubt have a big hand in over the offseason, so the changes will be coming for the Chiefs.

Time will tell whether they amount to the sort of bounce-back Chiefs Kingdom hopes for, but EB’s words certainly give confidence that Kansas City might be a force again in 2026.
