The season ended early for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes after suffering an ACL injury.
In what was just a dirty year for the AFC West franchise, now, Patrick is on the comeback trail.
Setting his sights on a Week 1 return, which for most is a little pushy, Mahomes has been working to get back as quickly as possible, even though several former players want him to take his time in his recovery.
Still, Patrick doesn’t appear to be listening, and he’s hell-bent on a Week 1 return.
And Chiefs fans will love the latest update on Patrick…he’s back throwing the football.

Mahomes ticking off recovery boxes
It has been roughly three months since Mahomes tore his ACL, and the fact that he is back, gently throwing the football and going through the throwing mechanics, is a good sign.
Granted, it wasn’t done at any great pace, but it presents a big step in the right direction.
Wearing a compression sleeve on his injured left knee, Mahomes is slowly ticking off markers in his hunt for a quick return.
No, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but doing this sort of thing only three months after his injury suggests to me that he’s on track in his recovery.
Week 1 awaits?
