Chelsea have confirmed that the transfer of Axel Disasi to West Ham on loan still happened despite going way past the deadline.
The January transfer window officially closed its doors at 7pm UK time on Monday evening and will not open again now until the summer. However, as long as a club submits the deal sheet by 7pm, then most of the time the transfer will still go through as it has been officially registered, even if there are still some bits to tie up after the deadline has gone.
EXCLUSIVE! Former Chelsea player lined up for reunion with Blues legend in the summer!
And it looks like that was the case with Chelsea defender Disasi, who joined West Ham late last night after a day of confusion over his move there.
The Blues man has joined Chelsea’s London rivals on a loan deal until the end of the season, and it’s now been officially confirmed by Chelsea.
Disasi joins West Ham
Axel Disasi signs on loan for West Ham.
Via the Chelsea website, the club wrote:
‘Axel Disasi will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Premier League side West Ham United.
‘Signed from Monaco in August 2023, Disasi scored on his Chelsea debut and made 44 appearances during his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.
‘The 27-year-old featured ten times for the Blues during the first half of last season before joining Aston Villa on loan in February 2024.
‘We look forward to supporting Axel during his loan spell at the London Stadium.
‘Good luck, Axel!’
