It is being reported that recently fired Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has informed other teams that they’re out of the picture, and the Los Angeles Chargers are now it. It is being reported that McDaniel will become the Chargers’ offensive coordinator.

Via (X), NFL Insider Adam Schefter said, “Former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel is expected to become the Chargers’ offensive coordinator, barring a change of heart, per Jeff Darlington and me. McDaniel has informed other teams that they’re out, the Chargers clearly want him, and the two sides are having dinner tonight. But the expectation across the league is that McDaniel will be staying in LA.”

McDaniel, 42, was fired by the Dolphins after going 33-35 in four seasons as head coach, including two playoff appearances.

Reports have indicated that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles were interested in McDaniel for similar roles. The deal is expected to become final in a couple of days.
