Barcelona have confirmed that summer signing Roony Bardghji has been handed a new squad number after being officially registered with the first team.
Rooney arrived in the summer and was initially registered with Barca Athletic, taking the No. 28 shirt for the first half of the campaign.
He’s now officially a first-team player and will wear the No. 19 for the rest of the 2025-26 season.
Here’s Barcelona’s statement:
“Here’s good news for Roony Bardghji. The Swedish forward, one of the standout performers in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Club, has now been registered with the first team.
“Until now, the winger was officially listed with Barça Atlètic and wore the number 28. From this Sunday’s Super Cup final onwards, he will don the number 19 as a fully fledged first-team squad number.”
The shirt was most recently worn by Lamine Yamal, before he switched to the famous No. 10, and has had may other famous owners including Lionel Messi and Patrick Kluivert.
