ARLINGTON — Two Richland County girls golfers are headed to the Division I district tournament.
Ontario’s Isabella Deel and Lexington’s Aniyah Monica earned individual qualifying spots after tackling a wet and soggy Sycamore Springs Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 21, during the Division I sectional tournament.
Deel carded a 41-50-91 to take fifth overall and earn the second individual qualifying spot while Monica shot a 47-48-95 which tied her for eighth overall and gave her the third individual qualifying spot.
The Top 5 individual scores that were not on a district qualifying team earned spots at the district tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green.
Ontario finished 11th as a team with a 462. Leeah Ziegler carded a 56-62-118 while Kennedy Sapp added a 57-64-121, Marley Guth had a 68-64-132 and Addysen Jacobsen rounded out the scores with a 74-76-150.
Lexington finished 13th as a team with a 510. Madalynn Miller carded a 64-59-123 while Emily Neighbors shot a 76-65-141, Addison Jarvis added a 75-76-151 and Addison Sigler rounded out the scores with a 99-87-186.
Mansfield Senior had two competitors with Amelia Raphael and Shaylee Oakball shooting matching 81-76-157s.
