Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of attacking talent Samuele Inácio until June 30, 2029, the Bundesliga club said on Friday.
The 18-year-old Italian initially joined the club’s youth department from Atalanta Bergamo in 2024.
“With his abilities and his potential, Samu is one of the biggest talents of his age group worldwide,” Dortmund managing director for sport Lars Ricken said in a statement.
“We are convinced that with his dedication and his quality he can develop into an exceptional player.”
Inácio made his Bundesliga debut two and a half months ago in the 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich. Last Friday, he scored his first goal in Germany’s top-flight in the 3-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
“Samu has a lot. He is intelligent on the ball, secure in possession, strong in combination play. On top of that, he has a very good feel for space, which also makes him a goal threat,” said sporting director Ole Book.
“These qualities paired with his diligence and his willingness to want to develop further make him a really good player, who has already made good progress with us while still having big steps ahead of him.”
