The Washington Commanders will begin their three-day rookie minicamp beginning this week on Friday, May 8. In addition to its six-player 2026 NFL Draft class, the Commanders will have several other players, including undrafted free agents, unsigned players on a tryout basis, and perhaps some of Washington’s existing younger players participating in the rookie minicamp.
Washington has yet to announce its undrafted free-agent class, but we have a list of players who have agreed to terms with the team. The Commanders will likely announce the signings this week, as the players descend on Ashburn for minicamp.
Here are some of the players Washington has reportedly agreed to terms with:
- Northwestern CB Fred Davis II
- Iowa K Drew Stevens
- LSU WR Chris Hilton Jr.
- SMU DT Jeffrey M’ba
- UNLV WR Jaden Bradley
- UTSA RB Robert Henry Jr.
- Michigan State S Malik Spencer
- Washington TE Quentin Moore
- Utah G Tanoa Togiai
So, which undrafted rookie free agent has the best chance of making Washington’s 53-man roster? Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic recently named one UDFA to watch on all 32 teams. His prediction for Washington: Hilton.
Hilton (6-0, 188) never had a consistent on-field run in college, as he battled several injuries (meniscus in both knees; ankle; shoulder), but he’s a legit speed presence (4.41 with a 1.57 split at the combine). He runs with tremendous balance and body control — he’s just an extremely raw player.
Stevens, a four-time All-Big Ten kicker, was named in the “others to watch” category.
As for Hilton, he’s an interesting player. A five-star recruit out of high school in the same class as Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr., but injuries wrecked his college career. He made his rounds earlier this year, becoming the first player to participate in four different pre-draft all-star games, including the Senior Bowl. Hilton was also impressive during his 2026 NFL combine workout.
There is hope for Hilton. Washington needs help at receiver. However, the Commanders have added Dyami Brown, Van Jefferson, and, most recently, Antonio Williams. Terry McLaurin, Jaylin Lane, Luke McCaffrey and Treylon Burks all return, as do Jacoby Jones and Ja’Corey Brooks. It will be a competitive battle to make Washington’s roster, but Hilton has a shot.
Stevens will directly compete with returning kicker Jake Moody for the Commanders’ starting kicker job. Therefore, he may have the best shot of all of the UDFAs of making Washington’s 53-man roster this summer.
