Tomorrow marks the beginning of the Sweet 16 in this year’s NCAA Tournament. It is also the beginning of the NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament, which is a 16-team field. In both competitions, our Spartans take on the UConn Huskies in an effort to move to the Elite 8 and Regional Finals, respectively. This week, I asked for your predictions on what both MSU squads will do over the coming days.
In hockey, the optimism is through the roof at a whopping 88% saying that MSU will win 2 games on Thursday and Saturday to move on to the Frozen Four.
In basketball, we still have a majority predicting 2 wins, but just barely at 56%. Interestingly, in both polls, losing to UConn in our next game was the 2nd most popular selection.
And one from the national archives, Duke is the most popular pick for coming out of the East region, but Michigan State comes in second at 28% of the vote. That means most neutral voters are selecting MSU to get past UConn.
Let’s see how you voters do this week. If you are the betting type, don’t forget to place those wagers over on FanDuel.
As always, if you have any suggestions for a survey question, please leave it in the comments.
