Michigan has received a commitment Wednesday from Las Vegas Centennial safety Maxwell Miles.

This comes one day after the Wolverines landed Chicago Morgan Park safety Darrell Mattison. Although the Wolverines now have five commitments total in the 2027 class, three of those were there before Kyle Whittingham took over his staff. Mattison and Miles are the first two commits to pledge to Whittingham and this staff.

Michigan has received a commitment Wednesday from Las Vegas Centennial safety Maxwell Miles.

Safeties coach Tyler Stockton and defensive coordinator Jay Hill were two of the primary staff members recruiting Miles and Mattison.

“I enjoyed the visit from the beginning to the end from the Michigan staff and community giving my family and the VIP treatment,” Miles said. “I can’t wait to pay them back on and off the field. The facilities were awesome and to see The Big House was amazing. I’m proud and happy to be apart of the University of Michigan family.”

Miles is a physical 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect who also was considering Minnesota and UNLV.

He had 77 tackles (six for loss) with eight interceptions, 10 pass breakups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked extra point. He is also a very good basketball player who showed his athleticism on the court this season.

The Wolverines offered him during a visit last Saturday.

Miles is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals and ranked as the No. 7 junior in Nevada. He previously played in Arizona before transferring to Centennial.

In-state receiver sets an official visit to Michigan

Belleville wide receiver Charles Britton III has a Michigan official visit set for June 19. Ahead of that, he will be on campus April 7 for an unofficial.

Britton played his first two high school seasons with the Wolverines’ Bryce Underwood as his quarterback at Belleville. However, Missouri recently has made a strong push for him and he will also visit Alabama and Oklahoma.

The 5-foot-10, 167-pound Britton is ranked the No. 18 junior in the state by Rivals.

Michigan offers in-state sophomore

Michigan offered Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice defensive end Jayden Bell on Tuesday,

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Bell is a four-star recruit and No. 4 sophomore in the state per Rivals.

A varsity player since his freshman season, Bell is a national recruit with offers from Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, Georgia and more.
