Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the new 20-point game king.
By scoring over 20 points during Oklahoma City’s 104-102 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, Gilgeous-Alexander passed Wilt Chamberlain for the most consecutive 20-point games in NBA history with 127.
Gilgeous-Alexander’s current streak of 20-plus point performances dates back to Nov. 1, 2024.

The reigning NBA MVP finished the game against Boston with 35 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds. Afterwards, he reflected on his latest accomplishment.
“I just give the game everything I have,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “There are so many things in basketball and life that you can’t control. I’ve just found success in focusing on the things I can control and giving my best effort. … I put my head down and done those things and look up and I’ve accomplished a few things.”
Chamberlain held the record for over 60 years before Gilgeous-Alexander came along and broke it. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to add to it for as long as he continues to put up 20-point performances like it’s easy. He could ultimately create some real separation between himself and Chamberlain before all is said and done.
