Hugo Gonzalez continued his electric rookie season for the Boston Celtics on Monday in a blowout win over the Milwaukee Bucks on the road.
Gonzalez got the start from Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla on a night that Boston was missing Jaylen Brown, Neemias Queta (and Jayson Tatum, of course).
Gonzalez proceeded to attack the glass like a ferocious animal, snatching 16 rebounds out of the air and adding 18 points, three steals, and two rejections to his statement performance. Hugo was +27 on the evening, outdone only by Derrick White’s +31 in that regard.
As CLNS Media’s Noa Dalzell alluded to on X, Monday was Hugo’s moment.
So many players have had MOMENTS this season
Tonight is Hugo Gonzalez’s:
15 points
13 rebounds (5 offensive)
3 steals
2 blocks
+18 in 23 minutes— Noa Dalzell 🏀 (@NoaDalzell) March 3, 2026
Having turned just 20 years old in February, Gonzalez’s future in the NBA is impossibly bright. The fact that he’s already impacting winning at this level has everyone associated with the Celtics on cloud nine for having drafted Hugo.
The 41-20 Celtics will host the surging Charlotte Hornets at TD Garden on Wednesday.
