The NFC West dominated the NFL Honors ceremony on Thursday. Three of the biggest player awards went to players in the NFC West. Another in the division won another on-field award, albeit one of the lesser-publicized ones.
Between the awards, NFC West players were the league MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Salute to Service Award winner and Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award winner.
League MVP: Rams QB Matthew Stafford
Stafford was named the league MVP in the closest race ever. He received one more first-place vote than Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Stafford had the most passing yards in the NFL (4,707) and most touchdown passes in the league (46). His 46 touchdown passes were a career-high, and it was the first year since 2021 that he had more than 4,000 passing yards.
Offensive Player of the Year: Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Smith-Njigba dominated in 2025. He had 119 receptions for a league-high 1,793 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. His 14.5 yards per touch on offense led the NFL.
Comeback Player of the Year: 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey
After an injury-riddled 2024 season, McCaffrey bounced back to have 2,126 total yards from scrimmage in 2025. He played in every game for the first time since 2022. He rushed for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns, and he had 102 receptions for 924 yards and seven scores. He was 76 yards short of having a 1,000/1,000 season for the second time in his career.
Salute to Service Award: 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey was also honored and recognized for his dedicated work supporting military families and raising funds for veterans.
Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award: Cardinals S Budda Baker
The award is presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition. This was the third straight year Baker was a finalist for the award. Rams receiver Puka Nacua narrated the award announcement video.
