Don’t take Sean McVay for granted, and don’t be fooled when McVay talk more about how HE needs to do a better job coaching, than he does specifying where some of his players likely let him down too.
McVay is the “we not me” guy, but when it comes to taking blame, he publicly puts it on him more often than not, so do not be fooled that last week’s game which didn’t only involve some mistakes in play calling made by McVay, but plenty of mistakes in execution made by players.
If the Rams want to beat Seattle they’ll need great coaching, no doubt, but they’ll likely need even better execution.
Yes, hopefully McVay calls a better game Sunday, sure, but also, hopefully the team can show up even stronger than they did last Sunday too because the only way to keep progressing in the playoffs, is to keep playing strong ball.
We know the Rams are capable, but they have to go out and put it on tape.
Thank you for rolling with us this week, happy Friday, this could be the last Rams game we see for a while on Sunday, so try to enjoy this upcoming weekend and get ready for what could be an awesome Championship Sunday!
Sean McVay comments on being so pass-heavy vs. Bears (ramswire)
“There were some instances where we did have runs called and we ended up getting to some other stuff, some of which we wanted, some that we didn’t,” he said. “Those are areas that I think at the end of the day, I have to be better. I have to be able to have some clarity. I think to your point, there were some instances where we weren’t able to do that at a high clip. I thought we did have success early on on that first drive. Then you start talking about the second series when we had three plays where we went three and out. We made a mistake that occurred on the third-and-four. Then on the third series we ended up having another mistake on the first-and-10 after we gained a first down after we ended up hitting ‘Ferg’ on the on the third-and-11. Then on the fourth series, again we had a mistake protection wise.”
Rams superstar reveals important life lesson Sean McVay taught him (ramswire)
“Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is widely considered one of the brightest minds and best leaders in the game today, and the success that his team has found since he took over in 2017 is a clear example of what he pours into his guys and the game plans.
McVay’s efforts have led the Rams to a 92-57 record in the regular season, 10-5 playoff record in seven playoff appearances and a Super Bowl win in 2021. However, what McVay has done for his team has also helped his players become better people off of it.“

“But for LA fans, the game was a true cardiac stress test. Despite jumping out to an early lead, the team fell behind just once. But it was once too often. Fans were growing impatient, as the offense seemed to sputter in a game in which the defense showed up. As such, falling behind seemed to set the stage for another meltdown.”
