Vanderbilt football was ranked No. 15 in the final US LBM Coaches Poll and AP poll of the season.

The Commodores (10-3) moved down two spots in the AP poll and three spots in the Coaches Poll after losing the ReliaQuest Bowl to Iowa on Dec. 31.

Ultimately, Vanderbilt won 10 games for the first time in program history, but the Commodores lost all three games they played to teams that ended up ranked in the final top 25 (Alabama, Texas and Iowa).

Diego Pavia also had a historic season, breaking several program records and finishing as the Heisman runner-up to Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza. Mendoza ultimately led the Hoosiers to the national championship, defeating Miami on Jan. 19.
