Iowa women’s basketball sophomores Ava Heiden and transfer Dani Carnegie were invited and will participate in the USA Basketball 3×3 development camp and showcase in Phoenix, Arizona, according to a press release Tuesday.

Heiden and Carnegie will make their USA Basketball debuts, and the development camp will be held May 6-8. According to the release, these camps are an opportunity for athletes to hone their skills in a competitive and educational environment, and is highlighted by under-23 women’s athletes.

Heiden enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign, leading all Power Four players and ranking third in the nation with 18.0 points per game. Her 612 points ranked third all-time by an Iowa sophomore, the release said. She earned AP/USBWA All-America Honorable Mention and first-team All-Big Ten accolades from both coaches and media.

Carnegie, who will join the Hawkeyes next season, was named first-team All-SEC in her sophomore season with Georgia and averaged 33.4 minutes, 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Carnegie was the ACC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024 with the Yellow Jackets and an All-ACC Freshman Team choice.
